The Story of the Brand
The story of Lootah begins long before its first boutique opened its doors. The Lootah family has been making perfume and incense since the 1950s, a craft handed down from Saleh Bin Nasser Bin Lootah and refined by generations of artisans.
Under the leadership of Mr Sultan, this family tradition found an international stage. In 2012 the first Lootah Perfumes boutique opened, the beginning of a growth that made the house known first across the Emirates and then far beyond. Today Lootah has boutiques in Yas Mall and Manar Mall, among others.
Its ambition is clear: to bring joy through Emirati scents and to create an emotional connection with people around the world. The house names quality, simplicity, knowledge and innovation among its core values.
The Signature of the House
Lootah seeks the balance between tradition and modern perfumery. On one side are the materials that define Emirati fragrance culture: oud, incense, saffron, rose, leather and amber. On the other, the clarity and structure of the French school, with fresh citrus, white flowers, orris and soft musk.
The result is fragrances that are warm and rich, yet rarely heavy. A smoky oud gains a fresh opening of vetiver or pink pepper, a spiced rose is lifted by blackcurrant and raspberry. Many names refer to the landscape and culture of the Emirates: Saraab, the mirage above the sand; Mabe, the rare pearl from the pearl-diving tradition; Palomino, the golden horse.
The design is equally recognisable: faceted bottles with a golden domed cap and a clean white label, and in the oud collection black glass melting into gold, copper or red.
Perfumers and Collections
Lootah does not disclose the names of its perfumers; the house presents its fragrances as the work of a single atelier. The perfumes are divided into two main lines.
The Classic Collection is the broadest line, ranging from fresh and floral to spicy and ambery, with fragrances such as Immerse, Luminous, Jiwan, Yoland, Suave, Saraab, Shagra, Razeen, Titan, Firebloom and Velvet Dawn.
The Oud Collection is the house's tribute to Emirati heritage and the mystique of oud, with Black Oud, Eternal Oud, Silky Oud and Lava Oud.
Lootah also creates bukhoor, fragrant oils and fragrant oud wood, home perfumes from the Barjeel collection and hair mists: the traditional scent rituals of the Gulf in a contemporary form.
Popular Fragrances
Black Oud pairs Turkish rose, cinnamon, blackcurrant and raspberry with a balsamic base of benzoin and vanilla. Lava Oud is the house's smokiest fragrance, with leather, cade and a rich woody accord. Velvet Dawn revolves around orris and cardamom on a velvet-soft base, and Shagra unites saffron and tuberose with tobacco and honey. For something fresher, Immerse offers neroli and peach tree flower, and Titan ginger, pear and ambergris.
