Inspiration

Mabe is named after the Mabe pearl, a rare half-round pearl that grows against the inside of the shell and is known for its soft, iridescent lustre. Lootah sees timeless elegance and beauty in it, and translates that into a fragrance of earthy patchouli, fresh bergamot and delicate jasmine.

For a country like the Emirates, where pearl diving was the heart of the coastal economy for centuries, the pearl is an image with deep roots. Mabe belongs to The Classic Collection.

The Signature of Mabe

Mabe is a fragrance of three elements, and Lootah arranges them in a striking way: patchouli at the top, bergamot in the heart and jasmine in the base. That reverses the usual order. Instead of fresh citrus slowly giving way to earthy depth, Mabe begins with the dark, faintly cocoa-like character of patchouli.

Bergamot then opens that earthiness from within, with a lustrous, slightly bitter freshness, and jasmine leaves a soft floral glow at the end. You could compare it to the pearl itself: a firm core with a soft sheen on the outside.
