The Story of the Brand
Amouage was founded in 1983 on the initiative of Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi, with the wish to create a perfume worthy of Oman. Its first scent, Gold, was composed by Guy Robert and was immediately seen as one of the richest perfumes of its time. Since then the house has worked with great perfumers on scents that unite Arabian luxury with modern perfumery.
The Signature of the House
Omani frankincense runs like a thread through the collection. The compositions open powerfully, unfold a floral or spicy heart and settle into a deep base of resin, amber and wood. The heavy bottles with their golden details are instantly recognisable too.
Collections
The main collection holds the icons, from Interlude Man and Gold Man to Jubilation XXV and Epic Man. Newer are Guidance, Decision and Purpose, and the Odyssey scents such as Search and Lineage. The Exceptional Extraits, such as Reflection 45, Decision 42 and Guidance 46, are the most concentrated versions. The Library Collection includes Opus XII Rose Incense, Opus XIV Royal Tobacco and Opus XV King Blue, and the Secret Garden blooms with Love Delight, Love Tuberose, Lilac Love and Blossom Love.
