The Story of the Brand
SoOud is built on an encounter. On one side Oriental perfumery, with oud, amber, saffron and roses, on the other the clean line of Western design. The brand does not let the two shout over each other. The names come from Arabic and say a lot about the mood of each fragrance: Aabir stands for ‘good scent’, Hadìs for change, Ilham for inspiration, Jazzab for ravishing, Nùr for light and Ourìs for sublime.
The Signature of the House
Every fragrance comes in two versions. The 100 ml Eau Fine holds up to 25% perfume oil and is meant for the day. The 30 ml Parfum Nektar holds up to 40% and belongs to the evening. The difference lies in the concentration, and so in the intensity: the Nektar is more concentrated, the Eau Fine breathes more.
Collections
Saffron and amber: Aabir (Nektar) begins with peach, saffron and cyclamen and ends in patchouli, leather and amber woods. Ilham (Nektar) revolves around saffron, nagarmotha, tree musk and amber. Jazzab (Nektar) combines bergamot, lavandin and cinnamon leaf with saffron, iris, myrrh, oud and cedarwood.
Wood and oud: Hadìs (Nektar) mixes bergamot and lime with fir balsam, jasmine, oud, saffron, amber, cedarwood, moss, papyrus and patchouli. Jade (Nektar) is named after the stone of five virtues and works with rare ambers.
Light, flowers and fruit: Nùr (Nektar) opens with lemon, incense, artemisia and chamomile and ends in musk, Russian leather and Madagascar vanilla. Ourìs (Nektar) begins with peach, plum, blackcurrant and honey and ends in iris butter, vanilla, sandalwood and tonka. Masha'er holds cassis, almond, mandarin, lily, rose, white jasmine and a base of sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, vanilla, musk and amber.
