This Parfum Nectar fragrance by SoOud, carries the Arabic name 'Ilham' which has a corresponding meaning of 'Inspiration'. A complex and intense olfactory pyramid, this fragrance is notable for such precious and unusual ingredients as saffron, grey amber, tree musk, the Indian spice Nagarmotha and the Malaysian essential oil Gujum.

Ilham is the new fragrance by soOud: in Arabic it is the sound of the word whose corresponding meaning is “Inspiration”. A complex and intense olfactory pyramid, notable for such precious and unusual ingredients as saffron, grey amber, tree musk, the Indian spice Nagarmotha or the Malaysian essential oil Gujum.

In soOud, the sensuality of oriental fragrances, profound, intriguing and passionate, typical of the Arab world, encounter a soul refined in its western manifacturing. Two precious raw materials conceal rare essences dedicated to the exploration of the senses, divided into two lines: Nektar, true high-concentration, rich, precious extracts, and Eau Fine, intense and delicate on the skin.

The names chosen are the phonetic translation of Arab words: on every package you can discover their meaning in English and French. Every fragrance extols inner beauty: the bottles almost entirely lacquered – except for the central part where a strip of transparent glass appears – to remind us of the niqab veil, which leaves a glimpse only of the eyes of the person who wears it. The stopper with its half cut recalls the sloping lines of modern buildings in the Middle East, completing a masterful blend of traditions and contemporaneity.

Ilham is a unique and utterly beautiful perfume. I recently reviewed it on Fragrantica. It opens with warm notes of leather and caramel, intermingled with bright notes of berries and peach, and a slightly spicy aroma, probably from the saffron. The heart is dense and persistent, woody and spicy, wrapped in a caramelised sweetness, which somehow remains quite potent and unchangeable throughout its development, till the very end, which is definitely a plus for me. The drydown is balmy and wonderful. This is where the gentle oud, vanilla, patchouli, musk, balsam and benzoin make their presence felt, in the most harmonious and pleasant way. That's Ilham, and it is intoxicating and marvelous! Excellent website as well! ParfuMaria is second to none when it comes to shopping for high-end and hard to find niche perfumes online.
