Inspiration
Saint Julep is set on the outskirts of Clarksdale, Mississippi, in a ramshackle church at the end of a secluded dirt road. It was not a place of worship but a refuge, lit inside with neon signs and Christmas lights. Locals shared moonshine there and danced their troubles away, in a place where "salvation had the distinct smell of sweet mint".

The composition is inspired by the mint julep, the classic Southern cocktail. Sweet mint and tangerine give a fresh, juicy opening, after which Southern magnolia adds a creamy, citrusy floralcy. Bourbon brings a warm, lightly woody spirit tone, while grisalva, an ambery molecule, and the sugar cube let the scent fade softly and sweetly. Fresh, yet comforting.
