The Story of the Brand
Rosendo Mateu has been a perfumer since 1968. He studied in Grasse, where he mastered the art of natural ingredients, and then worked for international perfume houses for many years. His travels took him from Paris and New York to Thailand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. In 2010, after 45 years of dedication, he was appointed Maître Parfumeur. Together with his son Joan he founded Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions, in which the father's craftsmanship and the son's innovative vision come together.
The Signature of the House
Characteristic are the clear, rectangular bottles, with each number of the First Collection built around three main ingredients named on the label. Rosendo Mateu likes to work with raw materials of exceptional quality, such as molecularly distilled patchouli and incense, natural oud, Italian iris and Calabrian bergamot. The fragrances are clearly constructed, with a distinct evolution and remarkable longevity.
Collections
The First Collection comprises numbered fragrances, from Nº1 to Nº10, each built around three main ingredients, with Nº5 Elixir as a more intense version of the bestseller Nº5. The Olfactory Journeys collection with 1968, 1970, 1988 and 2010 tells the key years in the master perfumer's life in golden Art Deco bottles. The Black Collection with Fresh Oud, Incense Wood and Sweet Rose has a concentration of 25 percent and a black bottle.
Popular Fragrances
Nº5 is the house's best-known fragrance worldwide: floral, ambery and radiant. Nº7 with patchouli, oud and vanilla and Nº3 with neroli, iris and white musk follow closely, as does the new UltraMusk Nº10.
