Description

Oriento

Inspiration
For Oriento, Vanina Muracciole returned to her cocktail of enigmatic musks and paired it with the famous rose-oud accord, an undisputed classic in the Middle East. The house describes the result as a magical floriental: an oud accord with cinnamon, guaiac wood, saffron and rose essence on a base of red musk, with a distinctly floral personality.

The Olfactive Composition
Top notes: Lemon, Saffron, Styrax
Heart notes: Apple, Rose, Ylang-Ylang
Base notes: Musk, Patchouli, Sandalwood

The Signature of Oriento
The rose-oud accord is often rendered heavy and dark; Oriento takes another path. Lemon and saffron open brightly with a light, leathery edge, while styrax lays a balsamic warmth beneath. In the heart, the rose appears with a juicy apple and the sunny creaminess of ylang-ylang, so the accord feels radiant rather than heavy. Cinnamon and guaiac wood add a smoky, spicy edge, and the musks with patchouli and sandalwood carry everything towards a soft, warm skin scent that lingers for a long time.

What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
Oriento shows how fresh and wearable a rose-oud can be without losing its character. The apple and ylang-ylang give the rose an almost sunny sheen, and the musks make the oud softer than you might expect. For us, one of the most elegant oriental interpretations in the collection.
