Inspiration
Memoirs of a Trespasser is the centrepiece of the early exploration writing of the fictional Philip Sava, whose kaleidoscopic work was so vivid that many believed his fantastical worlds were real. Sava spent most of his time in solitude on a ranch in southern Madagascar. Asked about his cloistered life, he answered: "Who needs love when there is still cognac in the glass?"
