Inspiration
L’Original is Andrée Putman’s first scent, made in 2001 by her friend Olivia Giacobetti and long known as Préparation Parfumée. The inspiration was an oriental garden and the vertical garden of the Pershing Hall Hotel in Paris, which Putman designed herself. Its notes remain undisclosed, which suits a perfume about calm and purity.

The Signature of L'Original
What you smell is a complex blend of forest wood and grey pepper, with the cool, green wateriness of water lily and the citrusy spice of coriander seed. The effect is transparent and mineral, like an inner garden where the air is humid and still.
What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
L’Original is the heart of the collection and for us the most beautiful. It is light yet not fleeting, spicy without imposing warmth, and it leaves a soft, woody stillness behind. You notice Giacobetti at work here: everything is clear and airy. A scent for every day and every season, for work, the gallery or a stroll. For lovers of minimalism, regardless of gender.
