Iris Violet was born from the meeting of the baroque elegance of the French court and the sensual exuberance of the Eastern desert. Alexandre.J reinterprets the iris, traditionally a royal symbol, with youthful energy: a tribute to the queens of the past, made for women of today.

The Signature of Iris Violet
Iris often has a reputation for being stern and powdery, like cool root and old lipstick. Here it is given an entirely different setting. Apple, bergamot and exotic fruits open fresh and juicy, after which the iris appears in the heart between rose and jasmine. Those flowers make it warmer and rounder, so what you smell is mainly the soft, velvety side of iris. The base is strikingly rich: Cashmeran and cedar add a woolly woodiness, olibanum a hint of incense, and benzoin with vanilla create a creamy, long-lasting drydown. Iris at its most cheerful.

We recommend Iris Violet to anyone who always found iris too aloof. The opening is playful and fruity, but after half an hour it becomes a grown-up floral with a lovely, soft texture. It lingers on skin for a long time, with vanilla and wood as a warm foundation. It suits spring and autumn, daytime, a lunch or an exhibition, and instantly dresses up a simple outfit. To us this is a feminine scent with a sense of humour: elegant, but never stiff.
