Inspiration
Ilm is the Arabic word for knowledge, and the scent pays tribute to the golden age of chemistry, when scholars in Baghdad and Cairo laid the foundations of distillation. Kemi chose a simple yet rare combination of materials, each with a clear origin, and let them mature together.

The Signature of Ilm
Gurjun balsam from Thailand gives a warm, resinous glow from the very first second. Oud buaya from Laos and Australian sandalwood form the creamy heart, structured by cedar from the Atlas mountains. Ambergris and oakmoss let the scent end softly with a slight saltiness.

Within our team, Ilm is the scent for the true oud lover. It is not an animalic or smoky oud, but a round, almost honeyed version in which the sandalwood softens everything. We notice that it stays close to the skin for hours and becomes slightly sweeter towards evening. The 50 ml size suits such a rich composition well, because you need very little. Our favourite moment for it is a quiet winter evening, with a book and a cup of tea.
