Inspiration
(homage to) Hemingway is Atto II, Scena III of the Opera collection, an interior monologue that opens with a line from The Old Man and the Sea: his eyes were the same colour as the sea and they were cheerful and undefeated. Masque Milano sums up the scent as sheer, bright vetiver with a Caribbean vibe: sunlight on water, salt on skin and the unshakeable calm of a man who knows the sea.

The Signature of (homage to) Hemingway
Hemingway is entirely about vetiver, in three guises. Fresh ginger oil and rhubarb open sparkling and slightly tart. The heart holds a clear vetiver core, deepened in the base by vetiver oil from Haiti and a molecularly distilled vetiver from Java. Cedarwood and patchouli add structure, while a hint of leather brings a soft, weathered warmth. The result is a vetiver that stays airy and sunlit, never smoky or heavy.
