The Signature of Golden Oud
If you associate oud with smoke and animalic depth, this one surprises. Golden Oud opens aromatic and somewhat dry, then moves quickly to a woody heart: earthy vetiver, creamy sandalwood and white wood, with patchouli as a dark thread. Violet adds a powdery softness that lightens the wood. Only in the base does the oud truly speak, together with musk and a damp, green moss tone. The result is a golden, polished woody scent in which oud gives structure rather than dominating. A good introduction for anyone who wants to get to know oud without jumping straight into the deep end.

For us, Golden Oud is the civilised side of oud. It is warm and full, yet stays wearable at the office, which is far from a given with oud scents. Vetiver and sandalwood set the tone for the first hour, after which it grows ever softer and muskier. We find it works well on almost everyone's skin; it hardly tips towards sweet or sour. Wear it in autumn and winter, with wool, cashmere and dark leather. If you love Black Muscs but want a little more wood, this is one to try.
