Inspiration
Picture a forest floor shimmering with a mysterious energy: that is how the story Amouroud tells for Dark Orchid begins. Perfumer Cécile Hua let black gardenia and a spiced orchid bloom from that dusk, hidden beneath layers of balm and vanilla. A scent with a hint of danger.

The Signature of Dark Orchid
The opening is citrus and flower: mandarin, Sicilian bergamot and the creamy black gardenia. Then it goes deeper, with jasmine from Grasse, ylang-ylang, lotus wood and the black orchid. Indonesian patchouli, Mysore sandalwood, an incense accord and vanilla give a velvety, hypnotic base.

Dark Orchid is our customers' favourite when they want an evening scent that does not recall a well-known designer orchid. It begins airy, but within the first hour the jasmine draws you into the shadows, and the sandalwood gradually makes it creamier. It belongs to a night at the theatre or an October party.
