Inspiration
The title comes from a line by the Marquis de Sade, who dreamed of attacking the sun, tearing it from the sky or using it to set the world ablaze. With it, Etat Libre d'Orange honours the writer, revolutionary and philosopher who questioned every assumption about love and beauty and placed freedom above all. The fragrance was created in collaboration with the family of the Marquis.
Perfumer
Quentin Bisch. He explains that he long avoided cistus or hid it beneath vanilla and amber, and here forced himself to show the material exposed and in all its forms.
Fragrance Family
Woody, floral
The Olfactive Composition
Cistus (the only officially listed main note)
The Signature of Attaquer le Soleil - Marquis de Sade
Cistus, also known as labdanum, is a resin with a warm, leathery, amber-coloured and slightly animalic scent. Precisely because Quentin Bisch does not hide the material here, the result is dark, intense and almost volcanic in character. The fragrance moves between smoke, resin and a soft, skin-like warmth. It is a study of a single raw material, and therefore clear and unvarnished.
What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
A fragrance for lovers of resins and leather who want to truly get to know a single raw material. Powerful and dark, yet with a surprisingly soft afterglow.
