Altesse Mysore pays tribute to the Indian city of Mysore and its markets, where stalls overflow with spices, opulent flowers and shimmering silk. Alexandre.J pairs that Indian splendour with French elegance, and the metallic rose bottle with its floral motifs captures exactly that meeting of tradition and modernity.

The Signature of Altesse Mysore
A chypre that starts not with moss but with resin. Elemi brings a citrusy, slightly peppery clarity, pink berries add a dry sparkle and Ambroxan draws a mineral line underneath from the start. In the heart, jasmine leads, broad and sunny, while Bulgarian rose and plum make it rounder and darker. The plum is the key: it gives the flowers a fruity, almost preserve-like edge without turning sweet. The base of cedar, patchouli and benzoin keeps everything taut, while vanilla and white musk make the drydown as soft as fabric falling against the skin.

For us, Altesse Mysore is the sunniest scent in The Collector. Where Black Muscs stays restrained, this one shows its colours: jasmine and rose are clearly present, yet never powdery or old-fashioned, thanks to the fresh resins in the opening. On skin we watch it shift slowly from radiant to warm; after three hours or so it is mainly patchouli, cedar and a soft vanilla glow. Projection is generous but polite. We would wear it on a late-summer evening or to dinner, with a silk blouse or a linen suit. Anyone who loves classic chypres but finds the moss too stern will find a warmer, fruitier take here.
