Camille Chemardin built Un Oud as a duel between oud and leather, circling each other before they embrace. As with the whole core range, it centres on a single ingredient, here the smoky wood from Asia.

Cardamom, bergamot and pink pepper open bright and spicy. Oud, papyrus, sage and elemi form a smoky, aromatic heart. Cedar, vetiver, leather and saffron give a powerful, warm base.

To us Un Oud is a modern, clean oud, without the barnyard or medicinal tones that sometimes scare people off. The cardamom makes it fresh, the sage gives air, and only later does the leather come forward with force. We find it beautiful on an autumn evening and notice it goes down well with twenty-somethings too. An affordable way into the world of oud.
