Histoires de Parfums calls 1.6 a love poem in a blue bottle, and we find that one of the most beautiful descriptions in the whole collection. The opening is juicy and radiant: sweet orange, grapefruit and yuzu, with that fresh, slightly bitter yuzu zest sounding like laughter in the shade of citrus trees. Then it turns tender. Lotus gives a watery, almost hypnotic softness, while neroli and orange blossom add white, sunny petals. The heart feels like a summer afternoon when time stands still for a moment. In the base white musk, vanilla and vetiver melt into a soft, skin-like warmth, with the vetiver drawing a subtle green line that keeps the whole elegant. What we like is that 1.6 starts fresh yet grows ever more intimate. It is cheerful without being fleeting. In the large 120 ml bottle it is a lovely everyday citrus scent for the whole of spring and summer.
