Florentine Diamond

Inspiration
The Florentine Diamond is a lost yellow diamond of Indian origin from the sixteenth century, weighing 137 carats and cut in an irregular nine-sided shape with 126 facets. Thameen asked principal perfumer Sophie Labbé to build an Extrait de Parfum around it, with the promise of a scent that feels like a treasure.

Mandarin and cocoa open with a dark, slightly bitter sweetness. Tuberose holds the heart, heady and creamy, beside sugar cane and barley that add something grainy and sunny. Vanilla, oak chips and oud form a warm, woody base with a gentle smokiness.

Florentine Diamond is a tuberose of a kind we rarely meet: the cocoa and oak make her dark and grown-up, almost like an old liqueur in a wooden cask. Barley and sugar cane add a soft, sweet glow that keeps the whole inviting. It is rich and lasts long, so one or two sprays suffice. We like to wear it on cold evenings and for special occasions. Tuberose lovers who already know the white, sunny version will discover a very different side here.
