Inspiration
Petra from the Le Donne di Masque collection opens with a mysterious scene: she comes in incense and patchouli. The story borrows images from the song Year of the Cat: a morning from a Bogart movie, in a country where they turned back time. She comes out of the crowd in a silk dress running like a watercolour in the rain, and leads you to a hidden door in a blue-tiled wall by a market stall.

The Signature of Petra
Petra connects a radiant floral heart with the warmth of an oriental market. Bergamot, yellow mandarin and pink pepper open bright and lightly spiced. Sambac jasmine and Moroccan rose form a rich bouquet, sweetened by the Luqaimat accord, inspired by the small honeyed dough balls of Arab cuisine, and fruity notes. Incense, myrrh and benzoin give the base a resinous depth, with patchouli, leather and ambergris for a warm, sensual drydown.

For us, Petra is Masque’s most opulent Donna: sweet and floral, yet with enough incense and leather to remain mysterious. A beautiful evening scent for the cooler months.
