Inspiration
Ode to Rose arises from a dialogue between nature and the decorative arts, in the spirit of Art Nouveau. Alexandre.J takes from that era a sense of freedom in which every curve celebrated life; the rose here is not just a flower but architecture, substance and movement. The bottle is cut like a jewel and rests in a case of leather and silk.

The Signature of Ode to Rose
A rose scent that begins not in the heart but in the sun. Mimosa gives a powdery, honeyed glow, ylang-ylang a creamy, almost tropical fullness and jasmine a bright sheen. Only then does the centifolia rose open, the hundred-petalled rose of Grasse, fuller and more honeyed than damask. Violet leaves make it green and crisp, geranium adds a slightly citrusy, woody side. Orange tree wood, sandalwood and patchouli give structure, so the rose does not float but stands. White musk and cedar let it fade out clean and long.

We have smelled many roses over the years, and Ode to Rose stands out for its light. It is rich but not heavy, floral but not sweet. The green violet leaves keep it fresh, while mimosa adds something soft and sunny that you rarely meet in rose perfumes. Longevity is excellent. We like it best in spring and early summer, during the day, with a white dress or a light suit, but it also works at a garden party on a mild evening. A rose scent for those seeking the classic rose with a modern, bright finish.
