The Story of Lorenzo Pazzaglia
Lorenzo Pazzaglia now lives in Fano, on the Adriatic coast, but his roots lie in a small village in the hills of Cagli. There, within the warm walls of the family restaurant, his first laboratory of emotions came to life: the sound of a sizzling pan, the aroma of Sunday ragù, hands kneading dough. For him, smell and taste became intertwined at an early age.
As a chef, Lorenzo began experimenting with essential oils, at first as a game shared with friends and restaurant guests. Their spontaneous reactions revealed that there was something special in those scents. With the support of his family he founded PAX Srl, and in 2021 PAX by Lorenzo Pazzaglia was born: an Italian artistic perfume house, created with passion and a touch of bold, wonderful madness. His motto sums up the philosophy: life is a summer, live it to the fullest.
The Signature of the House
Lorenzo creates by instinct and feeling. His fragrances are outspoken, full of contrasts and nuances, and never generic. Raw materials are selected with great care, and the formulas contain a high percentage of pure perfume oils, giving a rich sillage and long longevity on the skin. Every creation is entirely handcrafted in Italy, with direct control over each step. Most striking is his translation of taste into scent: cocktails, desserts and even the famous carbonara take on an olfactory form.

Lorenzo Pazzaglia composes his fragrances himself. The house works exclusively with Extraits de Parfum, arranged in recognisable collections: the Sea Collection with Black Sea, Artik Sea, Dream Sea and Sex-Sea; the Self Portrait Collection with personal scents such as Pax, Carbonara, Esco Pazzo and Evil Angel; the Vanilla Collection around Van Exstasyx, Van Py Rhum and Van Sea; the Cocktail Collection with Sun-gria, Summer Hammer, Speachless and Ginfusion; the Gourmand Collection with Sugar Kisses, Sweet Xplosion and Pink Milk; the Love & Passion Collection; the Cherry Collection with Cherry Ink; and the Reserved Perfumery Collection including Fôm, Choco Raptor and Coffeee Passion. Limited editions and discovery kits complete the range.
Popular Fragrances
Sun-gria was named Fragrance of the Year at the 2024 Scentxplore Awards in New York, where Lorenzo was also named Rising Star Perfumer. Summer Hammer, a fresh Mango Piña Colada in scent, won Best New Fragrance in Madrid that same year. At the 2025 Snouf Awards, Speachless (Best Fruity Scent) and Black Sea (Best Marine Scent) were both honoured. Tropikalys Karma won the 2026 Best Niche Perfume Award at the Art Niche Expo in Romania. Van Py Rhum, with barrel-aged rhum and vanilla, and the dark, salty Black Sea are also much loved.
