Hyrax

Inspiration
The African sun warms a broad slab of rock where a family of hyraxes takes its morning sunbath, ever watchful for the shadow of an eagle. The heat coaxes ancient aromas from rock, sparse vegetation and petrified hyraceum. Hyraceum, also known as African Stone, is a rarely used material and the heart of this scent.

The Signature of Hyrax
Elemi, pink pepper, saffron and Turkish rose create a spicy, dry opening. In the heart, African Stone brings a deep, slightly leathery animalic quality, surrounded by hyacinth, styrax and whiskey. Amber, benzoin, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka and synthetic castoreum and civet make the base warm and dusty, like sun-baked rock.
