Inspiration
Beneath fruity, herbaceous rays of Roman chamomile, the mineral sparkle of olibanum meets the woody, almost salty freshness of schinus molle. Together they evoke the crackling bark of incense trees, exuding their resin in scorching desert winds. Carried by Atlas cedarwood, saffron unfolds its leather and tobacco undertones, lit by spicy pimento berry. Olibanum and saffron, the divine and the earthly, enrich each other in one song.

Incense can be stern and churchlike, but Encens Roi chooses light. That is what makes it so special for us. With the first spray we smell olibanum in its brightest form, mineral and sparkling, softened by the fruity rays of Roman chamomile. Schinus molle adds a woody, almost salty freshness, as if the wind is blowing over warm sand. Then the scent grows warmer and more earthy. Saffron lays a velvety layer of leather and tobacco, pimento berry gives a spicy spark and Atlas cedarwood keeps everything upright and elegant. In the base we find the white cacao a surprisingly lovely detail: soft, lightly sweet and creamy, together with oud, cistus and vanilla. So a scent that begins like a prayer ends like a warm embrace. Encens Roi is refined enough for daytime and deep enough for the evening. The 60 ml bottle is a beautiful introduction to this king among incense scents.
