Inspiration
Around 1900, jewellers such as René Lalique made brooches and pendants shaped like insects, using enamel, opal and black stone. Alexandre Jean-Joseph, who founded his Parisian house in 2009, drew on that jewellery for the Art Nouveau collection. Black Beetle is the nocturnal scarab of the series, gleaming like polished onyx.
