Inspiration

Amouage describes Purpose as a vertical totem of mineral woods and stellar sparks of spice: a shamanic awakening, the scent of feeling at peace, of finding your roots, of being complete. It is a fragrance that does not shout outward, but turns inward.

In the Gift of Kings Set 2026, the Eau de Parfum is paired with two shower gels in the same scent, so the ritual begins in the shower.

The Signature of Purpose

The opening tingles: bergamot and pink pepper bring light, pimento berry a warm spiciness and frankincense a cool, smoky clarity. In the heart the scent turns dry and mineral. Rose stays in the background, while sand vetiver, sandalwood and papyrus build a vertical, woody structure.

The base is soft and dark at once. Saffron and suede give a leathery warmth, Mystikal, a modern resinous molecule, enhances the incense character, and akigalawood finishes spicy and woody.

Concentration: 20% perfume oil, 4 weeks of ageing: 1 week maceration and 3 weeks maturation.

To us, Purpose is a quiet, meditative fragrance. On skin it starts sparkling and spicy, then turns dry and woody, almost like warm stones in the sun. In the drydown the suede comes forward, soft and skin-like, with a touch of frankincense that lingers for hours.

It is beautiful in every season, but shows best in autumn. A fragrance for calm days, a walk, work that needs focus, or an evening when you want to stay close to yourself. For lovers of woody, mineral scents with depth. It is a one-time, limited gift set.
