Honour Woman

Inspiration

For Honour Woman, Amouage drew on Madame Butterfly, the young geisha of Puccini's opera who stays faithful to a love that does not answer her. Her story is one of truth and beauty, of an honour that weighs more than her own happiness. The house translated that tragedy not into heaviness but into light: a bouquet of white flowers that looks pure, yet carries a deep, almost solemn undertone.

This Gift of Kings Set 2026 places that fragrance at its centre, surrounded by a shower gel and a body lotion. The ritual becomes complete: first the skin, then the scent, which unfolds more calmly and lasts longer on a cared-for base.

The Signature of Honour Woman

The opening is surprisingly cool and spicy. Pepper and coriander give a dry spark, while rhubarb leaves add something green and slightly tart, like freshly snapped stems. Only then do the flowers open: jasmine and tuberose creamy and full, gardenia soft as velvet, lily of the valley clear and carnation with a fine, clove-like edge.

What makes Honour Woman special is what lies beneath. Frankincense and opoponax, the sweet myrrh, give the bouquet a resinous shadow; vetiver and a soft touch of leather keep the flowers from ever turning sugary. The composition stays radiant and restrained at once.

To us, Honour Woman is one of Amouage's most elegant white florals. On skin it starts cool and almost green, after which the tuberose and jasmine slowly turn warmer and creamier. After a few hours, a soft resinous glow of frankincense and amber remains, close to the skin and very personal.

We love wearing it in spring and summer, yet it is just as beautiful on a clear winter evening, precisely because of that cool opening. It suits a dinner, a concert or a wedding, and anyone who loves white flowers without sweetness. With the shower gel and body lotion, this is a refined, complete set to give or to keep.
