What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
Eugénie de Montijo came from Granada and became the last empress of France, and 1826 carries that blend of Andalusian warmth and Parisian refinement. The opening is bright and gracious, with bergamot and tangerine falling like sunlight on silk. Then the scent turns powdery and precious. White flowers and violet give a soft, almost velvety texture, while cinnamon and ginger add a glowing edge. To us it is precisely those spices that make it special: without them it would be sweet, with them it gains temperament. The base is rich yet muted, with patchouli, amber, incense and blond woods, and vanilla with white musk wrapping everything in a warm veil. On the skin it stays elegant and close. For us 1826 is an amber with imperial poise and a soft heart, lovely with a silk scarf, an evening at the theatre or a dinner by candlelight.
