Description

The Black Knight

Inspiration
The Black Knight is inspired by Giovanni dalle Bande Nere, an Italian Renaissance condottiero and scion of the Medici. Francesca Bianchi was charmed by his loyalty, his spartan lifestyle and his moral commitment. The scent depicts a military camp: the sweetness of wild shrubs, the smoke of a campfire, the smell of leather horse tack, and a powdery rose for his secret mistress.

Fragrance Family
Woody (vetiver), aromatic, smoky and powdery

The Olfactive Composition
Main notes: Artemisia, caraway, honey, Bulgarian rose, narcissus, iris butter, beeswax, cedarwood, vetiver, patchouli, oakmoss, leather

Perfumer
Francesca Bianchi

The Signature of The Black Knight
Artemisia, caraway and honey evoke the wild shrubs, while a powdery rose with narcissus and iris butter rounds off the intense core of vetiver. Without classic animalic notes, vetiver and the smokiness of leather provide depth: a dark, medieval and meditative scent.

What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
We see The Black Knight as a scent for those who love gothic, intense perfumes with a story. On the skin we notice how artemisia and caraway set the tone in the first hour, after which narcissus and iris butter slowly come forward. After several hours mainly vetiver and patchouli remain, close to the skin and ever more personal. We like to wear it best in autumn and winter, in the evening and at dinner. A scent for lovers of vetiver and leather with a powdery, restrained softness.
