For us L'Eau de Rose is the difference between a rose in a vase and a rose on the bush. It smells green, juicy and light, with none of the powderiness that puts some people off roses. The patchouli is so fine that you notice it mainly as depth, not as earthiness. It is at its loveliest on bright days, with airy clothing. Also lovely for anyone who has never worn a rose perfume.
