The Story of the Brand
The story begins in Rome, where the Durante family has owned a perfumery on Piazza Ponte Umberto I for generations. In 1996, they decided to create their own fragrances under the name PRO FVMVM ROMA: per fumum, through smoke, after the ancient ritual of burning fragrant resins and herbs. Each fragrance is a memory of a precise moment, personally lived or imagined, brought to new life.
The Signature of the House
Profumum Roma works with an exceptionally high concentration of around 43 percent. The fragrances develop on the skin during the first half hour and then remain present for hours. The compositions are clearly built around a few precious raw materials, so that each note can show itself fully. The heavy glass bottles with their red cap are instantly recognisable.
Collections
The collection ranges from Mediterranean freshness, such as Acqua di Sale, Acqua Viva and Ichnusa, to gourmands like Acqua e Zucchero, Dulcis in Fundo and Sorriso. There are also deep amber and incense scents such as Ambra Aurea, Olibanum and Arso, and lavish florals like Tuberosa, Rosae Mundi and Sabbia Bianca. Each fragrance comes in 100 ml and often also as a convenient 18 ml travel spray.
