Inspiration
In poems the rose is usually sweet and lovely. Liz Moores wanted to show its other side: roses at summer's end, with wilting petals and the soil they grow in. Tobacco Rose is that rose, rich and mineral, with the character of an old garden.

The Signature of Tobacco Rose
Two roses open full and slightly honeyed. Hay and beeswax bring the dry, tobacco-like warmth the name refers to, even though there is no actual tobacco inside. Oakmoss and ambergris give a mossy, salty depth.

Tobacco Rose is a rose scent for people who think they do not like roses. The beeswax and hay make it warm and grown-up, like a rose garden beside a barn full of straw. We love the ambergris in the base: it lets the rose shine all day long. A colleague who never wears florals bought a bottle anyway. It suits autumn walks, thick wool and a glass of red wine by the fireplace.
