Inspiration
Byzantium Saffron follows the Muda della Tana e di Romania, the Venetian trade route along the Greek coast to Athens, Constantinople and the Black Sea, where musk, nutmeg, saffron and benzoin were traded. In Greek mythology, saffron lies at the heart of the love between young Crocus and Smilax, and that ancient idyll resonates in every note.
