Inspiration
Lye is the chapter of purity. The name refers to lye, the old, simple substance once used to wash linen and skin. Gabriella Chieffo turned it into a scent about beginning again: scrubbing everything away until only what is real remains.

The Signature of Lye
A clean flash of bergamot and lemon opens the scent, like light through an open window. At the heart iris and incense appear together, cool and powdery with a wisp of smoke. Vanilla, opoponax and patchouli keep the base soft and balsamic, while leather adds a tough, dry edge.

Lye is our favourite incense scent from the house. It starts clean, almost like soap, yet within an hour turns warm and resinous thanks to the opoponax. On the skin a soft blend of smoke, vanilla and leather remains, reminding us of an old church with its door open in summer. We wear it all year round, by day and by night. For those who love understated scents with a strong backbone.
