Inspiration
Hystera plays with an old, loaded word. Hysteria was once blamed on women who felt too much or spoke too loudly. Gabriella Chieffo turns that around: her Hystera is the paradox of a woman who is fragile and unyielding at once, and may be proud of it.

The Signature of Hystera
Bergamot opens briefly and brightly, after which clary sage sets a herbal, faintly musky tone. Iris stands alone at the heart, powdery and cool like silk on the skin. Vanilla, labdanum and patchouli make the base dark and sweet, with cashmere wood as a soft cushion.

For us, Hystera is an iris scent with teeth. Where many irises stay polite, this one turns warm and almost animalic after an hour thanks to the labdanum. On the skin it develops into a velvety, lightly sweet cloud that lasts all evening. It belongs to the darker months, to dinners and nights at the theatre. A choice for anyone elegant, but not well-behaved.
