Inspiration
The most minimal fragrance is a single aroma-molecule: Molecule 01. The next most minimal adds 1 to 01. This is Molecule +: the line in which Escentric Molecules pairs Iso E Super, the molecule that turned perfumery upside down, with a single natural ingredient. Molecule 01 + Clary Sage consists of Iso E Super and clary sage, a biennial herb native to the Mediterranean and cultivated in southern France for perfumery. It is used here in both oil and absolute form. "Clary sage is fresh, herbal, floral. It's not sweet, but it's got that beautiful aromatic fruity part. It has a very unique freshness, almost like an elderflower in bloom," says Geza Schoen.

The Signature of Molecule 01 + Clary Sage
Clary sage naturally contains linalyl acetate, giving it a crisp, airy freshness, alongside floral nuances that recall blooming elderflower. It is complex yet unsweet, balancing herbal, floral and gently musky facets. The fragrance opens with a clean herbal brightness and softly floral and fruity notes, then settles into the smooth woody presence of Molecule 01. At 10% clary sage, the herb carries through to the drydown. "Clary sage has enough character to carry the fragrance on its own, while Iso E Super gives it space, warmth and longevity," says Geza Schoen.
