Escentric 05

Inspiration
Escentric 05 is a love letter to Cashmeran and an abstraction of summer on a Mediterranean island. Cashmeran, created in an IFF laboratory in the late 1970s, is warm and woody with a resinous pine note. Geza Schoen drew on his own summers on the island: "What you notice as you walk up the path from the sea is how the heat changes plants and trees; they turn dry, resinous and aromatic." The fig earned its place because there is a fig tree by his house on the island: "Fig feels authentic to the place; it reminds me of the happiness of summer by the sea."

The Signature of Escentric 05
The opening is deliberately simple: bergamot keeps it light, while orange brings a bright, happy tone that recalls the island's orange groves. Laurel and rosemary give a spicy Mediterranean freshness, juniper an herbal tonality and cypress a very dry, pungent wood. The fig is twofold: the bitterness of the leaves and the ripeness of the fruit. The base brings together two classic Mediterranean ingredients, cistus labdanum and mastic, a sweet, leathery, balsamic resin from a small tree that grows especially near the sea. Cashmeran, at 15% of the formula, gives the fragrance its warm piney woodiness, like a soft cashmere jumper after a day in the sun.

Escentric 05 evokes for us a warm, dry path between herbs and resinous trees, with the sea still on the skin. The fig and laurel are very recognisable, while the Cashmeran keeps everything soft. A summer fragrance with depth that also shines in autumn.
