Escentric 03

Inspiration
Escentric 03 honours Vetiveryl Acetate, a natural root and synthetic hybrid. It is a fraction of vetiver oil distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, then "crossed" with acetic acid to remove the bitter and leathery aspects of the root. The house paints a scene: a gentle river winding through green plains, a plump orange sun rising behind fluffy clouds. The formula pays tribute to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger and orris. "I wanted Escentric 03 to bring out the scent impressions of these roots and show how they harmonise with each other," says Geza Schoen.

The Signature of Escentric 03
Ginger dominates the opening: vibrant, green and spicy, with lime and two kinds of pepper keeping the freshness sharp. The heart is rich and velvety, with orris, jasmine and a soft tea-like impression, warmed by a touch of cinnamon and tonka. The drydown reveals the complex earthiness of vetiver together with sandalwood, Iso E Super, mellow balsams and musk, while leather and costus add a darker undertone. The result is a spicy yet fresh and elegant chypre, with the deep, dark green woodiness so characteristic of Vetiveryl Acetate.
