4160 Tuesdays Captured By Candlelight
Picture a huge Christmas pudding, trundled into an oak panelled dining room with a country house, lit by candles, the wax dripping on to the starched linen tablecloth.
Flaming brandy, sozzled fruit, rich pud, rich people, old wood, soft wax... that smell.
This came to be when Professor Barry Smith, Head of Philosophy at the University of London School of Advanced Studies called us and asked for the scent of Christmas Pudding for a television programme the next day. To the amazement of the assembled gathering (it was open studio day 2015) Chrismas pudding was recreated, and Barry's assistant came to pick it up. The next day it was on Channel 5; we have the pictures.
It seemed a shame to let it go to waste, so we took it and set a scene around it. then wrote a story to go with it, and finally finished the fragrance.
