Au Coeur du Désert

Inspiration
Take L'Air du Désert Marocain and carve it deeper, as an extrait. That is Au Coeur du Désert. Sun-bleached wood, warm amber and soft, aged patchouli gain weight, while ambergris lays a mineral glow over it all. Coriander, cumin and petitgrain open; cistus and jasmine follow. Patchouli, cedar, vetiver and ambergris keep the scent dense and intimate.

Cumin and coriander crackle for a moment, like spices in a dry pan. Then cistus turns it resinous, with jasmine glowing softly in it. The patchouli in the base is soft and aged, never muddy.

Anyone who knows L'Air du Désert Marocain recognises the landscape at once, but here the sun sits lower and everything is fuller. The cumin is clearly present in the first minutes; give it a moment, because then the cistus rises and the skin turns warm and sticky like resin. Around the second hour the patchouli creeps forward, velvety and a little dusty. The extrait wears closer to the body than the eau de toilette, yet easily lasts a whole day. We save it for autumn evenings and for days when a scent should hold you. Men and women here both wear it, usually without wanting anything else alongside.
