Inspiration
Shades of Leather honours leather as a raw material and explores new paths within leather scents. Perfumer Jérôme di Marino, trained at ISIPCA and mentored by Francis Kurkdjian, was guided by adventure, curiosity, zest for life and a free spirit. Leather protects us like a second skin, he says.

The Signature of Shades of Leather
Two precious spices form the overture: green, camphorous cardamom and spicy, woody saffron. In the heart the white blossoms of Arabian jasmine meet a smooth, heavy leather of the finest quality. Cedarwood lends clarity, while ambergris and patchouli provide a balsamic warmth, with animalic accords and dark green moss.

Shades of Leather is the boldest in the collection, but with fine manners. The cardamom and saffron bring instant character, and the jasmine makes the leather surprisingly supple. After a few hours it smells like a well-worn leather bag with a touch of moss. It is masculine by nature but wears beautifully on a woman. We wear it on autumn days and to business meetings.
