Inspiration
For as long as people have fallen in love, they have brewed potions to stir the same feeling in someone else. Tristan and Isolde drank one, and Titania was bewitched with flower juice in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hiram Green left out the dragon’s blood and chose carnation, for centuries the flower of love, as his main ingredient.

Green stems, clove and black pepper tingle at once. Carnation, rose and jasmine form a spicy, red floral heart. Resins and vanilla pull a warm, sweet glow underneath that lingers for a long time.

Carnation is a forgotten note, and Philtre shows what a pity that is. The clove makes it spicy, almost like mulled wine, while the rose keeps it soft and romantic. It opens with conviction, but after an hour it turns intimate and resinous. Our team likes to wear it to a dinner for two, and people keep asking what it is.
