Ocean in a Drop

Inspiration
The name comes from a line by the Persian poet Rumi: you are not a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean in a drop. Khayal turned it into a scent about self-worth and inner strength. The sea accord is deliberately crystal clear and mineral, like moonlight on still water.

Calabrian bergamot, orange blossom and juicy pineapple give a sparkling start, with apple and blackcurrant behind them. At the heart, jasmine sits beside a briny but not salty sea accord and soft patchouli. White musk, cedar, oakmoss, amber and vanilla form a warm, tactile base.

What surprised us about Ocean in a Drop is how long a fresh sea scent can last. The pineapple and berry make the opening cheerful, but after an hour we mostly smell jasmine and a light, mineral skin. We like to recommend it to anyone who finds marine scents too thin or too sporty. On warm days it wears beautifully light, while in autumn the amber base comes forward. A scent that lifts our mood in a quiet way.
