Molecule 01 + Black Tea

Inspiration
The most minimal fragrance is a single aroma-molecule: Molecule 01. The next most minimal adds 1 to 01. This is Molecule +: the line in which Escentric Molecules pairs Iso E Super, the molecule that turned perfumery upside down, with a single natural ingredient. Molecule 01 + Black Tea consists of Iso E Super and black tea, the dried leaves of the tea plant Camellia sinensis, with a subtle and complex aroma. "There's not only one black tea in the world," says Geza Schoen. He wanted to bring out its various facets in an accord of his own.

The Signature of Molecule 01 + Black Tea
Geza Schoen created an accord using an extract of black tea as an infusion, together with a maté tea absolute. The result is an aromatic cloud of enveloping Iso E Super pierced with the splendour of black tea, tempered with bitter-fresh notes and a whisper of florals. "What I love about black tea is its subtlety: the way airiness plays against earthiness and the bitter, fresh notes against the floral aspect, all with a light touch," he says.

To us, Molecule 01 + Black Tea has the calm of a morning cup of tea: dry, gently bitter and very clear. The Iso E Super makes it soft and skin-like. An understated, refined fragrance for lovers of subtlety.
