XERJOFF CASAMORATI 1888
XERJOFF introduces a collection of fragrances inspired by the ancient art of Italian perfumery; CASAMORATI Vintage Collection. The brand recreates the history of this glorious house of fragrances founded in Italy between the 18th and the 19th centuries, with the intention of safeguarding the historical and artistic heritage of the glamorous Art Nouveau era.
La “Fabbrica di Profumi C.Casamorati” established in Bologna around 1888 was specialized in many fine fragrances and various sophisticated bath soaps. During the production years CASAMORATI has received numerous awards and precious awards from major national and international exhibitions.
But the most unusual and most prestigious award for Mr. Casamorati was an award received personally from the Italian Queen Margherita of Savoy. During a visit to one of the Italian exhibitions, Her Majesty wished to thank the perfumer for the excellent quality of toilet soap, which she was using every morning. Not having at hand a suitable coin, the Empress took off her gold brooch and gave her perfumer in gratitude and deep respect.
The Flacon
Beneath the portico of the Roman church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin (Santa Maria in Cosmedin) is located an ancient mask of marble, known as the Bocca della Verita (Mouth of Truth). The legend says, that the Mouth of Truth in the Middle Ages played a role of a lie detector. According to a legend, a man putting his hand into her hole, can not take it out, if will lie under an oath. Following the tradition of niche perfumery, particularly attentive to philosophical explanations, XerJoff used the Roman legend of the collection Casamorati 1888. According to its concept, the collection of fragrances should be worn in the most positive and wonderful moments of life. Graphically depicted Mouth of Truth on the Casamorati bottles calls us to do so.
“Fine fragrance is never just about the smell. Done well, it is a marriage of substance and the sublime, perfectly executed by fragrance house Xerjoff with their philosophy that you cannot separate perfume from art.”
