Inspiration
Black Butterfly is one of the limited butterfly editions from Byron, the house behind which the creative mind LARCHITECT operates. Where most Byron scents spring from a night-time scene, this butterfly has a gentler tone: an interplay of almond and cherry, wrapped in a powdery cloud of flowers. The black wings stand for the dark, creamy side of that pairing.

The Signature of Black Butterfly
The almond leads, almost like marzipan, with cherry beside it and lime keeping the sweetness awake. Freesia, iris and rose then form a powdery, soft floral heart, while coconut adds a milky curve. In the base, vanilla, white musk, sandalwood and patchouli lay a creamy, slightly earthy foundation. The result is a fragrance that is gourmand and floral at once, without becoming sticky.

Black Butterfly is, as far as we are concerned, the most elegant Byron scent. The cherry and almond make a delicious first impression, but the powdery iris and freesia heart soon prevails and it turns soft and refined. Being an extrait, it holds on for a good eight hours, ending in a warm vanilla with sandalwood. We like it on a spring day, at a brunch or as a light evening scent. Lovely for those who prefer gourmands that smell of a bouquet rather than a cake.
