Boar is probably the most idiosyncratic of the animals, which is why we love it so. It starts surprisingly fresh with apple and galbanum, but soon digs into the ground: truffle, moss, damp leaves. It is like walking through an autumn forest after a rain shower. In the base come leather and a fur accord, warm and wild, with vetiver keeping it dry and earthy. We find it fascinating because it is so honest: this smells of the outdoors, of nature without a filter. For adventurous lovers of leather and forest floor, and perfect with a waxed jacket on a mushroom walk.
