The Story of the Brand
Christian Petrovich, an American of Italian and Russian descent, spent more than twenty years as a model and actor, walking shows in New York, Milan and Paris among others. In 2014 he founded Argos Fragrances, at what the house calls the dawn of modern indie perfumery. Petrovich taught himself the craft and is guided by his travels and by mythology. Blending and maceration take place in Nice, production in a private lab in Grasse, using natural ingredients from around the world.
The Signature of the House
In the Artist Series every scent comes with a painting, such as Gustav Klimt’s 1907 canvas for Danaë. The bottles are thick, hand-polished Italian glass. Petrovich designs the metal artwork plates himself; they are hand-painted and set with crystals. On top, like a Greek column, sits a metal cap bearing the Argos logo.
