Luck is blind, but bad luck can see very well. For this reason, the question usually asked of those who are having a bad time is "Ma teniss' l'uocchie 'ncuoll?", which literally means "do you have (malicious) eyes on you?". Hence, precisely, the origin of the word "Evil Eye", which generally refers to the eyes of those who point their evil gaze at us, leaving all their negative aura on us. Fortunately, however, there is a remedy for this "jinx": since the dawn of time, countless rituals have been handed down from generation to generation to remove the evil eye and the chosen ones who receive this gift perceive the malaise of these bad eyes even if only being in our presence (they yawn, have headaches, sneeze non-stop…).
